Afrokanist Magazine: Tells us about yourself and what you do?

Nadia Muwanga: My name is Nadia Muwanga, I am a BSc Psychology graduate, I’ve worked within mental health for fours years. From people suffering from mental health along side addiction, as well as within secondary care mental health services people who have longer term mental health that’s a lot more chronic such as dysthymia  to schizophrenia, bipolar and personality disorders.

I am currently working within the primary care psychological well being services, providing treatment for anxiety and depression is really where my passion lies, everyone has gone through an experience of mental health and I’m such a strong advocate for mental well being and creating awareness about what is out there as well as being able to provide treatment that can help someone’s mental health and aid in the prevention of their mental health deteriorating to the point where it can be worse in the future is important.
My stance is that you can be you’re own therapist. I think Mind your Mind is a perfect event for this and to start understanding how.
